We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher (SPED) to join our team in Yreka, CA. This full-time position involves working with a K-12 caseload to provide support and individualized instruction to students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including self-contained and inclusive classrooms.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet their needs.
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and professionals to ensure students’ needs are being met both academically and socially.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for educational strategies and services.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEPs, and other required documentation.
- Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential in California (or eligibility for reciprocity).
- Previous experience working with K-12 students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation, as well as state and federal special education laws.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
