Blazer Jobs is currently seeking experienced Special Education Teachers (SPED) for Extended School Year (ESY) roles within school districts in the Chester, PA area.

Position Summary: As a Special Education Teacher for ESY, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities during the summer months to prevent regression of skills. You will collaborate with other educators and professionals to design and implement individualized educational plans for students, ensuring that their unique needs are met and that they continue to make progress towards their academic and developmental goals.

Requirements: Applicants must meet all local and state requirements to work as a Special Education Teacher in Pennsylvania. Essential qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching license with Special Education certification.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with the IEP team.
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student goals.
  • Assess students' academic and developmental levels, and monitor progress towards IEP goals using data-driven methods.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and other professionals to support inclusive practices and ensure that students with disabilities can access the general education curriculum.
  • Implement behavioral interventions and strategies to support students' social-emotional development and address challenging behaviors.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students' progress, goals, and achievements.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
