Special Education Teacher for Grades 7-8th

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team for the next school year. This full-time position focuses on providing specialized support to students in grades 7-8. The teacher will work in both inclusive classroom settings and provide pull-out services as needed to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Job Responsibilities:

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in grades 7-8.
• Provide in-class support and pull-out services tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Special Education or eligibility for the same.
• Experience working with school students with various disabilities.
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for middle school students.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive learning tools.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
