Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Pay Rate: $40/hour

Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to high school students with diverse learning needs. Your role will involve co-teaching in a general education classroom as well as teaching in a special education classroom, ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Co-teach in general education classrooms, collaborating with general education teachers to modify and adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Provide direct instruction in a special education classroom, using evidence-based strategies and interventions.
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and adjusting instructional plans as needed.
• Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals and accommodations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education.
• Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with high school students and co-teaching is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Caseload:

• Caseload includes a mix of co-teaching in a general education classroom and teaching in a special education classroom.
