Job Description: The School-Based Special Education Teacher in Marion, NC will be responsible for creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. You will collaborate with students, parents, and other education professionals to ensure each student receives the support necessary for academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to the specific needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in both individual and small group settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
• Conduct assessments and adjust teaching strategies based on student progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to discussions on student needs and goals.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEP goals, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid North Carolina teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
• At least one year of experience in a Special Education setting.
• Thorough understanding of North Carolina’s special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, families, and colleagues.
