Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements to apply:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • Licensure: Valid California Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) license.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school-based setting or related clinical experience preferred but not required.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass state and local background checks.

Responsibilities:

As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will:

  • Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in implementing treatment plans and therapy sessions.
  • Work directly with students to provide speech and language therapy services under the supervision of an SLP.
  • Document student progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support students’ individual communication goals.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress.
  • Support students in both individual and group therapy settings.
