Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements to apply:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
- Licensure: Valid California Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) license.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school-based setting or related clinical experience preferred but not required.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass state and local background checks.
Responsibilities:
As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in implementing treatment plans and therapy sessions.
- Work directly with students to provide speech and language therapy services under the supervision of an SLP.
- Document student progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support students’ individual communication goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress.
- Support students in both individual and group therapy settings.
