Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

BlazerJobs is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a school-based position in Lakeland, FL. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative school environment while supporting students’ communication and language development. The assignment will run for approximately 15 weeks with 36 hours per week.

Position Details:

• End Date: Approximately 15 weeks total
• Hours: 36 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing therapy services to students with speech and language disorders
• Conduct individual or small group therapy sessions under the supervision of an SLP
• Implement treatment plans and strategies designed by the SLP
• Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy sessions
• Provide support to students in developing communication skills, including articulation, language, and fluency
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure students’ needs are being met
• Assist with screenings and evaluations as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (required)
• Current SLPA license in the state of Florida (required)
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred
• Ability to collaborate with SLPs, teachers, and other staff members
• Strong communication and organizational skills
