Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists for a full-time position with school districts in the Monroe, MI area. This is an excellent opportunity to help students improve their communication skills and thrive academically.

Key Responsibilities

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to develop strategies to support student communication.
  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions.
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
  • Conduct screenings for speech and language disorders and provide referrals when needed.
  • Educate students, parents, and school staff on strategies to enhance communication skills.

Qualifications

Educational and Certification Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid Michigan State License as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Must meet all local and state requirements, including background checks and certifications.

Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
  • Passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
