Full-Time School Speech-Language Pathologist Position in East Aurora, IL

Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students with communication disorders, articulation disorders, language delays, fluency disorders, and other speech-language impairments
  • Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to determine students' communication strengths and needs, and develop individualized treatment plans to address identified goals and objectives
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy interventions and instruction to improve students' speech production, language comprehension and expression, social communication skills, and overall communication competence
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other school personnel to support the academic and functional communication needs of students in various educational settings
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports to document student outcomes and inform decision-making
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on students' progress, discuss therapy goals and strategies, and solicit input on home-based support activities
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, individualized education plan (IEP) meetings, and other collaborative forums to contribute to students' educational planning and program development

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program
  • Illinois state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a speech-language pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children or adolescents preferred
  • Knowledge of best practices in speech-language therapy, assessment, and intervention for diverse populations of students with communication disorders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to cultural competence, equity, and inclusion in serving the needs of diverse learners and communities
