Position Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with speech and language impairments. Your role will involve implementing therapy plans, conducting assessments, and working closely with students to improve their communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing individualized therapy plans developed by the supervising SLP.
• Conduct therapy sessions with students, focusing on speech, language, and communication goals.
• Monitor and document student progress, providing updates to the supervising SLP.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students’ needs.
• Assist in the development of classroom and individual materials to enhance speech and language skills.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
• Valid SLPA certification or eligibility to obtain certification in Oregon.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational or therapeutic setting is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to diverse student needs.
