We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our educational team. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to our students. This role is essential in helping our students achieve their communication goals and succeed academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in providing direct speech and language therapy to students individually or in groups.
Implement treatment plans and activities designed by the supervising SLP.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting activities as directed by the SLP.
Support SLPs in conducting speech and language screenings and assessments.
Prepare materials and equipment for therapy sessions.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student communication goals.
Participate in team meetings and provide input on student progress and therapy needs.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
Prepare reports and summaries as required.
Assist in maintaining therapy materials, equipment, and records.
Stay informed about best practices and developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or a related field.
Licensure/Certification: Current TX state certification/licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and instructions.
