Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Assist in conducting screenings and assessments to identify students with speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP
  • Lead or co-lead therapy sessions with individual students or small groups
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' communication goals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
  • Assist in the development of materials and resources to support therapy activities
  • Provide support and assistance to the supervising SLP as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
  • Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program
  • Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
  • Illinois state license or eligibility for licensure as an SLPA
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to providing high-quality services to students
