Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced educators for a full-time role as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) with school districts in the Florence, SC area. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about creating inclusive educational environments and supporting the unique needs of DHH students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the needs of DHH students.
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction using both sign language and spoken communication strategies.
- Collaborate with support staff, audiologists, and speech-language pathologists to ensure comprehensive student support.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs and promote accessibility.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in ongoing assessments and evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification and specialized certification in Deaf Education or equivalent experience working with DHH students.
- Proven experience in an educational setting working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other relevant communication methods.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
