Teacher for the Visually Impaired
Blazer Jobs is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time, onsite position. This role will involve providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments to ensure access to the curriculum and school environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and other accessibility tools
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
- Conduct assessments to determine students' functional vision and educational needs
- Adapt learning materials and classroom environments to accommodate visual impairments
Qualifications
- Active GA PSC Certification and required GA License
- Previous experience as a TVI preferred
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessibility accommodations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
