Teacher for the Visually Impaired
Blazer Jobs is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for an urgent opening for the 2024–2025 school year. This full-time position involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess and develop individualized education plans for students with visual impairments
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility of learning materials
- Conduct functional vision assessments and recommend accommodations
- Support students in developing independent living and orientation skills
Qualifications
- Active Georgia TVI certification
- Experience working with visually impaired students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to modify curriculum and materials for accessibility
