Blazer Jobs is seeking a compassionate and skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in Viera, FL. This role involves working closely with students with visual impairments to provide specialized instruction and support that meets their individual needs

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects using braille, large print, and other accessible formats.
  • Teach skills for independent living, including orientation and mobility, self-care, and use of assistive technology.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Monitor and document student performance and progress toward IEP goals.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress reviews.
  • Educate school staff and peers about the needs and accommodations of students with visual impairments.

Requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or a related field from an accredited program.
