Blazer Jobs is actively seeking experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired for full-time positions within school districts in the Tilton, Illinois area for the upcoming school year.

Requirements:

  • Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired license in Illinois
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of local and state regulations regarding education for visually impaired students

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to visually impaired students, including Braille instruction, orientation and mobility training, and use of assistive technology
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students, parents, and other members of the educational team
  • Assess students' visual abilities, functional skills, and educational needs to determine appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations
  • Advocate for students' access to appropriate educational materials, technology, and resources
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to ensure inclusive educational experiences for visually impaired students
