Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired for a full-time role with school districts in the Lake Zurich, IL area. We are seeking dedicated educators committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that empowers students with visual impairments to achieve academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specialized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments.
- Adapt educational materials and curriculum to address the needs of visually impaired students.
- Provide both individualized and group instruction to support academic and functional skills development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure effective classroom integration.
- Incorporate assistive technologies and Braille resources to enhance learning.
- Keep detailed records of student progress and modify teaching strategies as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments is required or must be obtained within an established timeframe.
- Prior experience teaching students with visual impairments is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and address diverse student needs.
