Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired for a full-time position within school districts in the Siloam Springs Arkansas area. This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated professionals passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with visual impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students who are blind or visually impaired, adapting educational materials to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to ensure the integration of students with visual impairments into general education settings.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs and goals.
  • Teach students to use assistive technology and mobility aids, promoting independence and self-advocacy skills.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid Arkansas teaching license with certification in Teacher Visually Impaired (BVI) education.
  • Experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of assistive technologies and adaptive techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
