Join our team and make a significant impact by providing specialized instruction and support to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
- Provide instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support inclusive education.
- Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and recommend appropriate accommodations.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet educational goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education with a focus on Visual Impairments, or a related field.
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility techniques.
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting is preferred.
