Position Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathologist in Yuma, AZ, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech and language skills, including articulation, fluency, voice, and receptive and expressive language abilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals for students with communication disorders
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, targeting areas of need identified in evaluations
  • Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to improve students' speech, language, and communication skills, as well as their social communication abilities
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to support continued growth and success
  • Document evaluation results, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to support students' overall academic and social-emotional development
  • Provide consultation and training to teachers and staff on strategies to support students with communication disorders in the classroom and school environment

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Arizona
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Minimum of one year of experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably in a school setting
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to special education and speech-language services
  • Strong assessment, intervention, and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based services to support students' communication needs
