Certified Nursing Assistant in Great Barrington, MA

A full-time opportunity is available for a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide essential support in a dynamic educational setting, working one-on-one with a kindergarten student who has significant medical needs. This is a short-term contract position, covering 2.5 months from September through November, with potential for extension through the school year.

Schedule:

• Full-time, 32.5 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Active CNA certification required
• Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in pediatric or school-based environments preferred
• Proficient in assisting children with high-level medical needs and mobility support, including experience with wheelchairs
• Compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused approach
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educational staff and healthcare professionals
• Current CPR and First Aid certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on, one-to-one medical and personal care to a kindergarten student during school hours
• Assist with mobility, including transferring in/out of a wheelchair
• Support activities of daily living such as feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Monitor the students health status throughout the school day and respond promptly to any medical needs or emergencies
• Communicate regularly with teachers, school nurses, and parents or guardians regarding the students health and well-being
• Maintain confidential records and adhere to school policies and protocols
