Certified Nursing Assistant in Pittsfield, MA

An exciting opportunity is available for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate care and support in a school setting. This full-time contract position involves working 32.5 hours per week, offering vital assistance to a Kindergarten student with significant medical needs who uses a wheelchair. The assignment is anticipated to last approximately 2 1/2 months, from September through November, with the potential for extension for the remainder of the school year.

Candidates must bring a strong sense of responsibility, clinical proficiency, and a genuine commitment to supporting a young student in their educational environment.

Qualifications:

• Active CNA certification is required.
• Experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant in pediatric or school settings is highly preferred.
• Ability to provide care for individuals with complex medical needs, including mobility and personal care assistance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with students, families, and school staff.
• Ability to adapt, remain calm, and make decisions in urgent or unexpected situations.
• Current CPR certification is a plus.

Schedule:

• Full-time, 32.5 hours per week
• Weekdays following the school calendar

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, one-on-one care and supervision for a Kindergarten student throughout the school day.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living.
• Monitor and support the students medical needs as directed by nursing or medical staff.
• Communicate effectively with school personnel and parents as required.
• Maintain accurate records of daily care and interventions.
