Job Description:
Make a direct impact as a 1:1 Paraprofessional in Forest Lake, just 25 minutes from Blaine, working with a student in a Severe and Profound classroom. This position requires basic American Sign Language (ASL) skills to assist the student effectively in their educational environment.

As a 1:1 paraprofessional, you will provide individualized support for an elementary-aged student, ensuring that they have access to the curriculum and a safe, engaging learning environment. Your skills in ASL will be essential to communicate with the student and support their learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a student in a Severe and Profound classroom.

• Assist with academic, social, and behavioral tasks as directed by the teacher.

• Communicate with the student using basic ASL to foster effective learning and engagement.

• Support the student’s social and emotional development.

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Basic ASL skills required for communication with the student.

• Experience or comfort working with students with special needs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required (additional certifications preferred).

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.

• Reliable and dependable with a commitment to student success.
