Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Andover, Minnesota

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota DAPE license required; applications cannot be considered without this credential.
• Experience in adaptive physical education, specifically with middle school populations, is highly desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, and parents.
• Passion for developing custom activities and lessons that address a range of physical abilities and developmental stages.
• Well-organized, with proven ability to manage time and documentation for multiple student caseloads.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and implement engaging, individualized physical education programs for students with disabilities.
• Assess students physical and developmental needs to create appropriate instructional adaptations.
• Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure students IEP goals are met.
• Communicate progress clearly and effectively with parents and educational teams.
• Maintain accurate records, including assessments, progress notes, and participation data.
• Promote safe, motivating, and accessible learning environments across both designated school campuses.
