As an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year, youll serve a vital, itinerant role supporting diverse learners across multiple school sites. Key Qualifications:

• Valid California teaching credential specific to Adaptive Physical Education.
• Demonstrated expertise in delivering adaptive PE instruction for students with a range of physical, cognitive, or developmental challenges.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, ideally with previous itinerant teaching experience.
• Ability to develop individualized PE plans aligned with IEP goals, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Passion for fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive atmosphere for all students.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide adaptive physical education instruction to eligible students, traveling between designated school sites as needed.
• Assess student abilities, set appropriate objectives, and track progress in coordination with special education staff.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, therapists, and administrators to adapt curriculum and equipment based on students individual needs.
• Prepare and maintain timely records, documentation, and reports for IEP meetings and administrative requirements.
• Facilitate inclusive activities that promote lifelong fitness, social interaction, and self-confidence.

This position offers a competitive hourly compensation (pay $63-$67 per hour) for a 35-hour work week throughout the 184-day school year.
