Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) - Fontana, California

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid credentials and authorization to serve as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
• Experience leading adapted PE classes, preferably in a school setting
• Skilled in supporting students with diverse abilities and IEP requirements
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and reporting
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Organizational ability for managing multiple locations and caseloads efficiently

Responsibilities:

• Deliver adaptive physical education instruction for a small caseload (6 students) at three schools
• Fulfill both makeup and regular instructional minutes as outlined in IEPs
• Conduct assessments, participate in IEP meetings, and document progress
• Design engaging, developmentally appropriate PE activities tailored to individual abilities
• Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families to optimize student outcomes
• Ensure compliance with all school and district policies regarding adapted PE services
