Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) in Maple Grove, MN

Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher by supporting students physical development and well-being in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity spans from early September through late November and offers the chance to work with middle school students across two locations.

Essential Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Developmental Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) teaching license (required for submission)
• Experience working as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in a school setting is highly desirable
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to develop and modify individualized physical education programs based on diverse student needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for students of all abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver adaptive physical education lessons tailored to students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Serve multiple middle school sites, supporting students at both Northdale MS and Rosevelt MS
• Create engaging activities that promote movement, coordination, and healthy lifestyles
• Assess students progress and report findings to educational teams and parents
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
• Participate in IEP meetings and assist with developing measurable physical education goals

This full-time contract position spans 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from September 3, 2026, to approximately November 30, 2026. Caseload details and specific daily schedules will be discussed during the interview process.
