Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) in Riverside, CA

Make a positive impact supporting students with unique needs as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in a rewarding contract position running through May 2027. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction across three non-public school campuses, working directly with students who benefit from tailored physical education programming. You'll have an active and varied work schedule with regular on-site engagement.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid California credential authorizing service as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
• Experience working with children and adolescents with physical, cognitive, or behavioral challenges
• Strong grasp of best practices in adaptive physical education, including development of individualized strategies
• Familiarity with IEP process, documentation, and assessments
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to travel between assigned school locations in San Dimas, Pasadena, and Chino Hills

Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver adaptive physical education services to a small, targeted caseload at non-public schools (total of 6 students)
• Implement individualized programs to support each student's physical, social, and emotional development
• Conduct regular and make-up minutes, ensuring all IEP requirements are met
• Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and insight for each students progress
• Complete assessments and thorough, timely documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to maximize inclusion and student success
