Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Certification in Adaptive Physical Education (APE)
  • Experience working with students who have diverse physical and learning abilities
  • Knowledge of IEP processes, assessments, and goal implementation
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication, organization, and record-keeping abilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide adaptive physical education instruction to a small, focused caseload: 4 primary students in San Dimas, 1 in Pasadena, and 1 in Chino Hills
  • Deliver both regular and makeup session minutes as required by IEPs
  • Conduct comprehensive student assessments and participate actively in IEP meetings
  • Collaborate onsite with school staff and specialists, adapting lessons to meet each student's needs and progress
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure adherence to compliance requirements
