Occasionally, youll travel to additional campuses within the district to ensure comprehensive audiological care. Maibel Tamez will be available to provide assistance, creating a collaborative, supportive workplace.

Key Qualifications:

• Masters in Audiology
• Minimum 5 years school-based experience or equivalent
• ASHA certification (waiver granted for individuals otherwise meeting requirements)
• State licensure to practice, fit, and repair hearing aids
• Successful completion of relevant examination
• Fingerprinting and background check clearance
• Strong troubleshooting skills paired with a student-centered approach

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive audiological services and testing for a caseload of approximately 50 students, working with a subset of them each week
• Coordinate with itinerant teachers to schedule and perform district-wide evaluations and troubleshooting sessions
• Fit, adjust, and repair hearing aids, ensuring optimal access to learning for all students under your care
• Maintain detailed, timely documentation in accordance with school and state standards
• Collaborate closely with school staff and families to develop tailored plans for students with hearing needs
