Blazer Jobs is now hiring a dedicated Behavioral Support Technician to provide one-on-one and small-group behavioral support for students in a school-based setting. Position Overview

As a Behavioral Support Technician in Harvey, LA, you’ll work under the guidance of licensed professionals to implement behavior intervention strategies, de-escalate challenging situations, and assist students in developing essential academic and social-emotional skills. Your support will help students reach their goals in a safe, inclusive, and structured school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consistent behavioral support throughout the school day

• Implement intervention strategies aligned with students’ IEPs or BIPs

• Support students in both academic and behavioral skill development

• Document student progress and collaborate with educators and specialists

• Assist in transitions, routines, and classroom management

• Model and reinforce positive behavior in diverse settings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field preferred

• Experience working with students in behavioral or special education settings strongly preferred

• Familiarity with positive behavior support techniques

• Calm, patient, and flexible demeanor in high-energy situations

• Must meet all Louisiana and district-specific credentialing and clearance requirements

• Background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening required
