Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Support Technician (BST) to support K–12 students in New Orleans, LA for the 2025–2026 school year. The BST will work under the supervision of a certified behavior analyst or special education staff to implement behavior support strategies, collect data, and foster positive student behavior across academic settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) under the guidance of behavior specialists and school-based teams
Support students in classrooms and other school environments using evidence-based strategies
Provide consistent behavioral interventions and reinforcement systems
Collect and record accurate data on student behavior and progress toward goals
Assist in crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies as needed
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on intervention techniques
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school and district policies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred)
Experience working with children or youth in educational or behavioral support settings
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Basic understanding of behavior management principles and strategies
Ability to stay calm and focused in challenging situations
Commitment to supporting diverse learners in inclusive educational environments
Must pass background checks and meet district employment requirements
