Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Support Technician (BST) to support K–12 students in New Orleans, LA for the 2025–2026 school year. The BST will work under the supervision of a certified behavior analyst or special education staff to implement behavior support strategies, collect data, and foster positive student behavior across academic settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) under the guidance of behavior specialists and school-based teams

  • Support students in classrooms and other school environments using evidence-based strategies

  • Provide consistent behavioral interventions and reinforcement systems

  • Collect and record accurate data on student behavior and progress toward goals

  • Assist in crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies as needed

  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success

  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on intervention techniques

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school and district policies

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred)

  • Experience working with children or youth in educational or behavioral support settings

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Basic understanding of behavior management principles and strategies

  • Ability to stay calm and focused in challenging situations

  • Commitment to supporting diverse learners in inclusive educational environments

  • Must pass background checks and meet district employment requirements
