Job Requirements
Applicants must meet Texas qualifications to serve as a Behavior Technician in a public school setting. This includes:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is highly preferred
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
- Must have an extensive background in behavior support and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy
- Must pass a background check and meet all Plano ISD onboarding requirements
- Candidates must be comfortable accepting school placement after onboarding is complete and must be willing to work with any grade level
- Must be reliable and accountable, with strong communication and behavioral intervention skills
Selected candidates will:
- Assist in specialized classroom settings that serve students with severe behavioral needs
- Support the implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the guidance of certified staff
- Utilize ABA techniques and behavior tracking tools to assist with student behavior and progress monitoring
- Work directly with students in crisis or exhibiting challenging behaviors
- Support teachers and staff with classroom management strategies
- Communicate clearly with team members and families, offering bilingual support as needed
