As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), youll provide meaningful interventions that help children and young adults achieve their educational goals, working with ages ranging from Pre-K through transition-aged students (up to 22). This itinerant position enables you to collaborate with diverse educational teams at various elementary, middle, and high schools, making a positive impact throughout the district.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current active clinical license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Valid Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) educator license
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
• Confidence traveling between assigned school sites and adapting to varied student needs
• Completion of fingerprinting and timely credentialing requirements

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy support according to students IEPs and 504 plans
• Collaborate with OTs and school staff to create individualized strategies for skill development
• Track student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in team meetings
• Adjust interventions to suit various age groups and educational environments
• Provide daily services on-site as assigned; this position is exclusively in-person
