Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity delivering occupational therapy services to students across a vibrant school district near Lake Hughes, CA. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you'll step into an itinerant, district-wide position, supporting a diverse K-12 caseload and covering a maternity leave through the end of the school year. This role is entirely on-site, providing you with the chance to collaborate closely with educational teams at multiple locations and make a meaningful impact on approximately 50 students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current, active California licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience supporting K-12 students in a school-based environment is strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites as part of an itinerant role
  • Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Experience working with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is a plus
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, student-centered care

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services and interventions to students on the assigned caseload
  • Support students in achieving academic and functional success in the school environment
  • Implement therapeutic activities and modifications as prescribed by supervising Occupational Therapists
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure effective supports are in place
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation for all services delivered
  • Attend relevant meetings and contribute to IEP development
