Blazer Jobs is working with a dedicated school district in Bayard, New Mexico, to hire a compassionate and proactive School Counselor for the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year. This is a full-time, onsite position serving a high school population of approximately 256 students.

Position Overview:

• Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

• Weekly Hours: 30 hours

• Setting: Onsite only

• Grade Level: High School

• Caseload: Varies based on student needs; total school population is 256 students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Guide students in meeting New Mexico high school graduation requirements

• Support district testing efforts and assist in graduation planning

• Offer academic advising and help students set and reach educational goals

• Provide mental health counseling and crisis support as needed

• Collaborate with school staff and families to address individual student needs

Qualifications:

• Must meet New Mexico licensure requirements for school counselors

• Strong understanding of high school academic pathways and testing processes

• Comfortable supporting both academic and emotional student needs

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Previous school-based experience preferred
