Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) | 1-on-1 Support | Fort Smith, AR

Blazer Jobs is proud to partner with a dedicated school district in Fort Smith, Arkansas to fill a full-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Educator position for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a fully onsite role working 1:1 with a student who communicates using American Sign Language (ASL).

Position Details:

• Dates: August 8, 2025 – May 13, 2026

• Schedule: Full time, school hours

• Caseload: 1:1 student assignment requiring ASL communication

• Setting: Onsite in a public school environment

• Pay: $45–$50/hour (based on experience)

• Renewal: Based on performance and district needs

Daily Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support tailored to the student’s IEP and communication needs

• Utilize ASL to facilitate instruction and engagement

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and service providers

• Track and document student progress, making data-driven instructional decisions

• Support student in academic and social development across school settings

State Requirements:

• Must hold an active Deaf and Hard of Hearing Educator Certification in the state of Arkansas

• Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass school district background checks
