Pay Rate: $55–$65+ per hour, based on experience
About the Role:
The Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing will play a key role in providing specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with IEPs and individualized learning plans.
Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, lesson plans, and case records.
Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student communication and learning outcomes.
Support student social-emotional development, academic progress, and overall well-being.
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding special education and deaf/hard of hearing services.
Qualifications:
Valid California teaching license with Deaf/Hard of Hearing credential or endorsement.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field.
Experience working in a school or with children/adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to implement specialized instructional strategies and utilize assistive technologies effectively.
