About the Role:
The Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing will play a key role in providing specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with IEPs and individualized learning plans.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, lesson plans, and case records.

  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student communication and learning outcomes.

  • Support student social-emotional development, academic progress, and overall well-being.

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding special education and deaf/hard of hearing services.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching license with Deaf/Hard of Hearing credential or endorsement.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field.

  • Experience working in a school or with children/adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to implement specialized instructional strategies and utilize assistive technologies effectively.
