Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Educational Diagnostician to join our school-based team in New Orleans, LA for the 2025–2026 academic year. The Educational Diagnostician will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services, developing evaluation reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support individualized student learning needs across K–12 settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, behavioral, and developmental functioning
Interpret assessment data and provide diagnostic impressions and eligibility determinations in accordance with state and federal guidelines
Develop clear, comprehensive evaluation reports and participate in IEP meetings
Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student learning plans
Monitor compliance with timelines and documentation requirements for evaluations and reevaluations
Provide recommendations for instructional strategies, accommodations, and interventions based on assessment findings
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with district and legal standards
Stay current on special education laws, evaluation procedures, and evidence-based practices
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Special Education, Educational Diagnostician program, or related field
Valid Louisiana Educational Diagnostician certification or equivalent credential
Previous experience conducting assessments in school settings preferred
Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and state special education procedures
Proficiency in administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized assessments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively with diverse teams
