Second Grade General Education Teacher – Calumet City, IL

Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and passionate General Education Teacher for a full-time second grade teaching position in Calumet City, IL. Located just outside of Chicago, Calumet City offers a diverse and engaged student population with a strong focus on academic achievement and student support.

Position Details:

• Full-time classroom teaching position for the 2025–2026 school year

• Focus on second grade instruction in a public elementary school

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Elementary Education endorsement

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)

• Must meet all background check and fingerprinting requirements for the Illinois State Board of Education

• Previous classroom experience at the elementary level preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and age-appropriate instruction in core subjects (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies)

• Maintain a structured and inclusive classroom environment

• Develop lesson plans aligned with district and state standards

• Monitor and assess student progress; adjust instruction as needed

• Communicate regularly with parents, support staff, and administrators

• Create a positive and motivating classroom culture that supports academic and social development
