Health and Physical Education Teacher – High School | 2025–2026 School Year
Location: Chester, PA
Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
A high school in Chester, PA is seeking a certified Health and Physical Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time, in-person role focused on promoting physical well-being and health literacy for high school students in an urban school environment.
The ideal candidate is experienced in managing a classroom, delivering engaging lessons, and tailoring instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach high school-level health and physical education in accordance with Pennsylvania state standards
Develop and implement lesson plans that include physical fitness, personal health, wellness, and safety topics
Use assessments and student feedback to inform instruction and differentiate as needed
Maintain classroom structure, safety, and engagement through strong behavior management techniques
Support school initiatives related to student health, physical activity, and wellness
Collaborate with school leadership and staff to support student achievement and behavioral goals
Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania teaching certification in Health and Physical Education
Bachelor’s degree required (mandatory for emergency permit eligibility)
Must complete all Pennsylvania clearances, including:
PA State Criminal Background Check
FBI Fingerprint Clearance
PA Child Abuse History Clearance
Mandated Reporter Training
At least one year of school-based teaching experience required
Prior experience in an urban education setting is highly preferred
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
