Science Teacher in Chicago, IL

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois teaching license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required (substitute licensure not accepted)
• Health Science endorsement preferred, but strong consideration given to candidates with backgrounds in science fields such as chemistry or anatomy
• Experience teaching or strong content knowledge suited for junior high students
• Commitment to working fully on-site, with no flexibility for remote instruction

Responsibilities:

• Teach engaging health science classes aligned with junior high curriculum standards
• Develop creative lesson plans and assess student progress
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture
• Collaborate with school staff, resource teams, and families to promote student success
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement and assessments

Role Details:

• Scheduled hours are 33.75 weekly and are not flexible
• Youll serve as the primary Health Science teacher for Wentworth Junior High
