Key Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver standards-based lessons in history, geography, economics, and civics

• Encourage critical thinking, debate, and meaningful classroom discussion

• Incorporate real-world events, media, and technology into instruction

• Evaluate student progress through assignments, assessments, and participation

• Collaborate with other educators to support school-wide academic goals

• Promote a classroom environment grounded in respect, inquiry, and engagement

South Carolina Teaching Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or related field (required)

• Valid South Carolina Professional Teaching Certificate in Social Studies (Grades 9–12)

• OR eligibility through reciprocity or alternative certification pathways
