ESL Gen Ed Teacher - Independence, MO

Make a positive impact by working with a vibrant group of multilingual students in an elementary school setting located near Independence, MO. This contract position focuses on supporting English Language Learners (ELLs) from kindergarten through fifth grade, each at a unique stage of academic English proficiency.

In this role, you'll work with approximately 30 students, forming groups for each grade level over four days each week. Wednesdays are designated for vital program management activities, as well as collaborating with classroom teachers to provide instructional coaching. This is an opportunity to play a key part in students linguistic and academic growth, while working alongside dedicated educators in a supportive environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Missouri K-12 certification in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) or ELL (English Language Learners)
• Experience with WIDA ACCESS or similar ELL assessments preferred
• Previous elementary classroom or ELL teaching experience strongly valued
• Ability to adapt instruction for students with varying English proficiency levels
• Collaborative and communicative approach to working with teachers and staff
• Comfortable supporting students who may also qualify for special education services

Key Responsibilities:

• Design differentiated, engaging lessons for ELL groups across grades K-5
• Monitor student progress using the WIDA ACCESS assessment scale (1-6)
• Support students at varied proficiency levels, including those close to exiting the program
• Facilitate collaboration with classroom teachers via coaching and strategy sharing
• Manage program records, compliance, and reporting requirements
• Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive school community
