ESL Teacher in Kansas City, MO

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary English Language Learners just outside Kansas City, MO. This role is uniquely positioned to impact a diverse group of studentsmore than 30 across grades K-5each at different stages of English proficiency as measured by Missouri's WIDA ACCESS test. You'll be part of a dedicated educational team that values collaboration, coaching, and growth.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Missouri K-12 certification in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) or ELL (English Language Learners)
• Experience working with elementary-age learners, ideally across various levels of English proficiency
• Understanding of WIDA ACCESS framework and Missouri ELL exit standards
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Openness to working with students who may also qualify for special education services

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct ELL instruction to small groups, typically at least one group per grade level, four days per week
• Use Wednesdays for program management, lesson planning, and coaching classroom teachers to implement language acquisition strategies
• Assess student growth and progress, utilizing WIDA ACCESS data to inform instruction
• Adapt teaching strategies to address the learning needs of a wide spectrum of English proficiency
• Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and cultural respect
