ELA Gen Ed Teacher - Metairie, LA

As a valued educator, youll be working with high school students, taking on classroom responsibilities in English Language Arts. Your skills will help elevate students' reading comprehension, writing abilities, and analytical thinking, preparing them for success both in and out of the classroom. This assignment follows the school district calendar, Monday through Friday, for 35 hours per week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day.

Key Qualifications:

• Must hold a current and active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate (Temporary Authority to Teach or Teaching Authorization is not accepted)
• Previous high school ELA teaching experience is preferred
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
• Commitment to timely and thorough completion of all district credentialing requirements, including a drug screen and fingerprinting

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction to high school students
• Create an inclusive, dynamic classroom environment that encourages participation and thoughtful discussion
• Develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide targeted support or enrichment as needed
