Science Teacher in Metairie, LA

This contract role offers a full-time schedule aligned with the school calendar, working with high school students. You'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact by delivering dynamic general education science instruction. The start date is as soon as possible, running through the end of May 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Possession of an active Louisiana DOE Teaching Certificate is required (temporary permits or authorizations are not accepted at this time)
• Experience teaching science at the secondary level is strongly preferred
• Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and assignments with a positive attitude
• Willingness to complete district-specific credentialing requirements, including drug screening and fingerprinting
• Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive science instruction to high school students, designing and implementing lesson plans aligned with state standards
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and adapting instructional strategies as needed
• Maintain effective communication with students, families, and colleagues to support student achievement
• Foster a safe, welcoming, and respectful classroom culture
• Participate in professional development and other school activities as required
