Hourly Pay: $39–$44/hour (based on qualifications and experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled General Education English Teacher to provide high-quality instruction to students in grades K–12 in New Orleans, LA, for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literacy, literature, and language arts, and will be committed to fostering a learning environment that supports academic growth, critical thinking, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based English/Language Arts (ELA) lessons
Foster student learning in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student development and academic achievement
Design and implement formative and summative assessments to track student progress
Utilize data to adjust instruction and support individual learning goals
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success
Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field required
Valid Louisiana teaching certification in English Language Arts (or eligibility to obtain prior to the start of the school year)
Prior teaching experience in a K–12 setting preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Familiarity with state academic standards and evidence-based instructional practices
