About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable High School Science Teacher to join our instructional team for the 2025–2026 school year. This position is based in a New Orleans public high school and involves teaching general education science courses, which may include Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science, depending on school needs and teacher expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science lessons to high school students
  • Create a classroom environment that fosters inquiry, critical thinking, and collaboration
  • Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative methods
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to promote student success
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field required
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certification in Science (Grades 6–12) or eligibility to obtain certification by the start of the school year
  • Prior experience teaching high school science strongly preferred
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to equitable education
  • Ability to integrate technology and hands-on learning into instruction
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly pay rate: $45–$50/hour, based on experience and qualifications
